The ANTIFA Membership Card.

In Response to the call to action by Fall of Freedom, for November 21 & 22, I’ve cooked up a couple of efforts. The first being an “ANTIFA Membership Drive” set on the Main Campus of the University of New Mexico, by the Duck Pond, and under the Alumni clock, not far from the tabling effort by the university’s Young Republicans Group conducting a tabling event to reinvigorate their group. Now, I didn’t actually see the Young Republican’s table. I’m not sure if they actually showed up. It’s funny. When I was reserving the location for my set up, I swear the Young Rebuplicans’ tabling event was supposed to be a Hot dog Eating contest.

The second is still more of an evolving rumination than an effort, and it centers on the on the story of Zorro.

It occurred to me that the character of the “Pretty Highwayman” as he’s often referred to in the text of The Mark of Zorro, previously published in serial form as “The Curse of Capistrano” is a home grown meme in waiting for a refresh for this current moment. The representation of the characters in the story, especially the macho military officers who feel the need to extravagantly fib about they were bested in encounters with the masked man.

This is very much in development. I’m not sure what form it will take, but ideas are beginning to precipitate.

More to come shortly.
